Did you know these facts about lavender?

Lavender as the silent queen is often underestimated. With March we want to give lavender a new image as a modern plant. Here are three notable facts about the medicinal plant lavender:
- Did you know that lavender was documented over 2500 years ago? Lavender was used in ancient Egypt to mummify corpses. The Romans, on the other hand, used the scent of lavender in their bathhouses.
- Did you know that lavender comes from the Latin word 'lavare'? Lavare means 'to wash'. Lavender has always been used for bathing and washing, hence the name.
- Did you know that there are over 450 types of lavender? Yes, you read that right, there are over 450 types and over 45 species.
