Lavender as a remedy is still greatly underestimated and is now experiencing a new boom. Lavender has been awarded the title “Medicinal Plant 2020” by leading German institutions since 1987. We chose lavender precisely because of its calming and balancing effects. Admittedly, also because of the wonderful scent and the purple splendor.

In times like these, when everything is about speed, many people long for peace and deceleration. The scent in particular not only has a calming effect, but can also be mood-enhancing and relaxing. When it is absorbed through the sense of smell, the lavender scent can best unfold its sleep-promoting and calming effect.

Luckily, lavender is winter-hardy and can therefore also thrive on the slopes of our beloved Haselbach in Styria. In general, lavender likes it warm, dry and loves the sun. It is therefore not surprising that its European homeland is the coastal regions of the Mediterranean. Warm slopes along the Mediterranean coast to Dalmatia and Greece as well as Tuscany are the original home of lavender.
